Wildlife We Remove in Tampa, FL

Living in the ‘Sunshine State’ has plenty of perks. But the perpetual sunshine and warm climate also create a prime habitat for wildlife to flourish in.

The west coast of Central Florida has plenty of habitats for wildlife to enjoy including coastal scrub, pine forests, hardwood forests, dry prairie, and an abundance of fresh water sources. As Tampa continues to grow, the area’s wildlife will adapt to this changing landscape of new urban and suburban territories.

Unwelcomed animals in your home will make their presence known. Animal noises are the most obvious sign you have an animal in your house. Wildlife in your home is more than a nuisance. Nuisance wildlife will damage your home and threaten your health.

Homeowners in Tampa face the most significant wildlife nuisance issues in the spring and fall. But some nuisance wildlife issues will persist throughout the winter and summer seasons, most notably rodents and bats. Animals in the area will seek out the shelter and food readily available in your home.

Call Trutech at the first sign of suspected animals in your home. It is important to remove wildlife before too much damage happens.

Your home or business is no place for a critter to call home. In fact, a wildlife nuisance problem can lead to extensive property damage and health concerns for anyone in the building.

Wildlife Removal Process

Step 1: Inspection

We inspect the entire house both inside and out. We check the attic and crawlspace. We look for entry points along the exterior and on the roof. Each house is different. Each species is different. An inspection could take as little as 30 minutes or as long as 3 hours.

Step 2: The Plan

After the inspection, we share what we found with you and explain how we solve the problem. Each plan is unique to the homeowner. Removal strategies include but are not limited to live trapping, direct capture, deterrents, or one-way doors. Once they’re gone, we repair any damage and apply sanitizing and ectoparasite agents. We return your home to the condition before the animal was present.

Step 3: Exclusion

A full home exclusion creates a barrier that prevents animals from entering or re-entering your home. Exclusions provide long-term and safe solutions to keep an animal out. We seal all types of entry points like plumbing stacks, gable vents, ridge vents, crawlspace vents, and roof returns.

100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

Once installed, Trutech offers a one-year warranty on full home exclusions. If you aren’t satisfied with the initial work, Trutech will send out a service manager to inspect the work completed and make any necessary adjustments.

Wildlife Control in Tampa

Rodent Removal

If you hear scraping sounds in the walls or you see droppings, it’s a good idea to call Trutech. Mice or rats can wreak havoc in your house.

Total rodent removal takes more than a few mouse and rat traps. Rats can have up to six litters a year consisting of eight to eighteen pups. Effective rodent control requires proper rat and mice population control and prevention.

The standard mouse trapping duration is normally 5-14 days. We will evaluate the extent of the rodent infestation. We’ll remove the mice and perform mouse exclusion services to prevent them from coming back into your home or office.

Snake Removal

Most of the snakes in Tampa Bay are not venomous. There are only four venomous species found in Tampa, and they usually only pose a risk to humans when threatened. All snakes are beneficial to the environment. If you have a snake in your home, avoid killing it. To ensure safe and permanent removal, you need the expertise of a licensed professional.

A snake enters a home looking for food. If you need snake removal in Tampa, you likely have rats or mice in your house too.

Not only will Trutech safely remove the snake but also the technician will inspect for any other pest animals. Once all wildlife has been removed, we’ll prevent any future pest animal infestations.

Armadillo Control

Armadillos present little danger to people. The greatest danger they pose is to your landscaping. Controlling the animal can protect your lawn and garden and the integrity of structures like decks and driveways on your property.

Capturing an armadillo with a live trap can be difficult. Habitat modification and exclusions are extremely effective in removing armadillos from your lawn. Water your garden beds in the morning because armadillos prefer loose soil. Armadillos are nocturnal, and the soil will have dried out by the mid-afternoon.

Raccoon Removal

Humans rarely see the masked bandits who scavenge at night. It’s their destruction that is most noticed. You will see tipped garbage cans, scattered pet food, damaged garden crops, missing chickens, and holes in sod. But that’s not all.

Raccoons damage your home too. They will gnaw, chew, rip, and shred anything that gets between them and their den. For the safety of you, your home, and your property, raccoons should be professionally removed.

Live trapping is the most common raccoon removal technique.  When juveniles are present, the use of repellents can be effective. Exclusion techniques include securing food sources and closing any entry points.

Bat Removal

There are 13 species of bats in the state of Florida; several of these, including little brown and big brown bats, may be found in residential homes and businesses.

In Tampa, bat problems fall into one of three categories: roosting bats, a lone bat in the living area of a home, and bats flying around the house. If a bat is identified in the living area of the home, it can be legally be trapped and removed.

During maternity season (usually April 15 to August 15), it is illegal to remove or exclude bats in Florida. After maternity season, the wildlife technician removes bats by installing a one-way bat valve. That allows the bats to safely leave your home but prevents them from re-entering.

Mole Control

Moles spend most of their time underground so you probably will not experience a mole problem in your home.

You will notice a mole problem in your yard by their tunnels and the molehills. The pests tunnel just below the surface of the ground, overturning dirt with their powerful front feet.

Time, energy and resources can be wasted by trying to control moles in an unoccupied burrow. Baiting and trapping are the two most practical and efficient methods. Moles are territorial. Successful mole control does not stop after you have trapped all the moles; mole trapping leaves an ideal but unclaimed territory for moles.

Squirrel Removal

Squirrels can cause considerable damage to your home. Both gray squirrels and fox squirrels can be found in Florida, but Tampa-St Pete residents are more likely to have fox squirrels in their attic.

Squirrels are active during the day so you might hear squealing, running, or gnawing early in the morning. Squirrels’ teeth never stop growing so they constantly gnaw and chew damaging attic insulation, fraying electrical wire, and destroying house structures.

To effectively remove squirrels, the wildlife technician will employ a variety of tactics such as live trapping, one-way doors, deterrents, and direct capture. Our Tampa team is made up of dedicated experts who know the best ways to remove squirrels from a home and keep them away.

Bird Control

Birds flying on your property and roosting in your trees usually are not a problem. Birds become an issue when they take up a more permanent residence on or in your house.

You’ll likely notice signs of a bird’s nest along grooves in your roof, within your chimney, or in cracks in your siding. Although you may be hesitant to call a wildlife control company in Vancouver, it’s essential to consider these services. Bird droppings can carry histoplasmosis, which can have negative effects on the lungs.

Depending on the bird species will determine the solution. The best bird control approaches emphasize deterrents, exclusion, or modification of buildings.  Trutech’s knowledgeable technicians have bird-proofing and bird control methods for any nuisance bird situation.

Pocket Gopher Control

The most obvious sign of gophers will be the damage to your property. Large mounds of dirt sit above their burrows. Gophers will destroy plants. If trees and shrubs fail to survive, it could be a gopher problem. Gopher damage above ground can reach as high as 10 inches.

Gopher control is most effective during spring and fall when gophers are most active near the surface. Activity is usually indicated by fresh mounds of soil. Time, energy and resources can be wasted by trying to control gophers in an unoccupied burrow. Baiting and trapping are the two most practical and efficient methods.

Dear Trutech, yesterday happened just like you promised! You had told me that if I saw a snake on our property again to call you any day or any time because that’s the best time to catch them – that is, soon after they’re spotted. You sent Alfred Burns right away and Nick Yohn, D.M. arrived, shortly thereafter. Removing that 65″ snake from our yard was a great relief for my wife and me. You have kept every promise you’ve made and you have provided great customer service at every step.

Life happens, right? Had a mix-up on my routine bi-monthly scheduled service and got skipped. There's no need to complain when things go right but the response when something goes wrong says a lot, maybe more, about a company's real customer appreciation. I contacted Trutech's customer service and was immediately helped, a yard service was completed in the next couple of days at my convenience and at no charge, and too, all without any negative attitude, etc. I'm already a long-time customer and plan to remain so.

Trutech drove a raccoon out of my attic & sealed several openings shut. They cleaned up the droppings. They trapped an armadillo & her offsprings left. Then Trutech drove stakes in the ground beside my fence to shut off their passage. All their efforts have paid off because the wildlife has not returned.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no one-size-fits-all solution; each job requires a custom approach. We inspect every home and build a custom plan to resolve any wildlife problems. We use a variety of techniques including cage traps, direct capture, one-way valves,  and deterrents. Exclusion techniques are the most effective way to get rid of animals.

We provide customized solutions to each individual customer so that we may solve the issue as quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively as possible. The size of the house, type of animal, number of nuisance animals, and length of time of infestation affect the estimated price of wildlife removal.

An estimate may change based on the amount of animal activity or work needed to be done. All estimates are finalized with an exact price before any work begins.

Our goal is to remove any wildlife as humanely as possible — often that means catching and releasing the animal.

Trutech® does not hire subcontractors for animal removal services. We employ expert technicians who are provided ongoing education and training in all aspects of animal control and removal. Many of our technicians hold degrees in Wildlife Biology, Entomology (insects), Ornithology (birds) or Herpetology (reptiles), some with Masters degrees in their specialty field.

Yes! We are licensed and insured.

We start by first removing the wildlife on your property, and cleaning up any damage. From there we’ll work with you to create a customized prevention plan so you won’t have the same issue again.

Typically an animal dies in your home because it became trapped in a hard-to-reach and hidden area. Our expert technicians have the experience and knowledge to find it and then safely remove the carcass from your home.

Our Wildlife Technicians use a pet-safe odor eliminator made of natural organisms and enzymes that consume decaying organic odor-causing matter, eliminating the source of the lingering odor. We use aerosols, oxidizing agents, foggers, and disinfectants with germicides to deodorize until nature completes this task for you.

You should consider a full home exclusion after the smell has been neutralized. Nuisance wildlife found its way into your house once. That entrance leaves your home vulnerable to future animal infestations. Full home exclusions are the most effective form of wildlife control.
