Raccoon Removal

Raccoons inhabit all parts of greater Boston. They tend to stay near a reliable source of water and are comfortable in urban areas. Raccoons can wreak havoc trying to gain entry to your home and cause significant damage creating a den in your attic. They can cause a mess of garbage and destroy home gardens and birdfeeders. Because they are nocturnal, you’ll most likely hear a loud thumbing at night if you have an attic.

Live trapping is the most common removal technique and exclusion techniques include securing food sources and closing any entry points.

Bat Removal

All nine species of bats in Massachusetts eat insects. Five species are listed as endangered, but all bat species are protected.

A bat does not want to be in your home. If you find one in a room, do not panic. Seal the room and open a window. Attics are another story. Attics provide all the necessary criteria for a safe habitat for a bat colony.

Humane bat removal consists of sealing all entry points and install a one-way bat valve, but there are restrictions when bat colony in your attic can be evicted. Bats can only be removed in May after hibernation or between August 1 and October 15 after the pups have learned to fly.

Humane bat removal consists of sealing all potential entry points and installing a one-way bat valve.

Squirrel Removal

Gray and red squirrels inhabit the entire state of Massachusetts. Southern flying squirrels will also enter your home and attic. Gray squirrels are comfortable around humans and found in urban and suburban environments. Red squirrels are usually found in mature coniferous forests or small pine plantations in suburban areas. Squirrels are most active during dawn and dusk except in winter they are active in the middle of the day.

If you hear scratching noises that start early in the morning, it is likely a squirrel. Squirrels damage your home by constantly gnawing, building nests, and leaving their droppings. Effective squirrel control includes trapping, removing, and preventing squirrel infestations. Because trapped squirrels must be released on the premises within the property, effective exclusion work is essential to keep the squirrels out.

Rodent Pest Control

Getting rid of rats or mice involves more than a few rat traps. Rats can up to six litters a year consisting of eight to eighteen pups. You must control the population and prevent any additional rodents from entering your home. If you hear scraping sounds in the walls or you see droppings, it’s a good idea to call Trutech.

We will evaluate the extent of the rodent infestation. The wildlife technician will determine what types of traps, how many traps, and the placement of traps to effectively control the rodent population. Rats leave pheromone trails that other rats can follow into your home. The technician will identify current and potential entry points and seal them to prevent mice and rats from entering your home.

Chipmunk Control

Chipmunks are most active from March until October. In Boston, chipmunks mate twice a year. The first litter of two to five kits is born in April and May; the second litter in July and August. Chipmunks enter their burrows in late October and do not emerge until March or April.

Chipmunks pose no real danger except for damage to lawns and gardens, and they rarely enter homes. Their burrows are quite extensive that include areas for sleeping, storing food, defecating, and give birth.

There are all sorts of chipmunk repellents, deterrents, and baits on the market, but these do little to truly get rid of chipmunks. You need a much more robust and dedicated plan to get rid of these pests, which is why you should call our Boston wildlife-removal specialists as soon as possible for any chipmunk control issues you may encounter.

Woodchuck Removal

Also known as groundhogs and whistle pigs, woodchucks are abundant in Massachusetts. You will see woodchucks in your lawn during the spring and summer days. Woodchucks hibernate from fall to early spring.

Woodchucks won’t hesitate to tear up your lawn and garden. Burrows contain multiple entrances, may extend up to fifty feet, and go under sheds, porches, decks, and walkways. If food sources are abundant in your garden, the woodchuck population can become difficult to control. Poison is illegal in Massachusetts, and repellents have minimal success. A combination of trapping, deterrents, and exclusion methods established by professional wildlife technicians is the most effective way to control woodchucks in Boston.

Skunk Control

Skunks can thrive in urban and suburban settings because they tolerate living near humans. Skunks typically invade Boston yards in search of food or a safe place to burrow. Breeding season typically occurs from February to March, and in late April to early June females create a den to give birth to two to ten kits. Skunks are not true hibernators. If the weather is above freezing, skunks can be active at night.

Sheds, porches, and foundations make ideal burrowing locations. A skunk den can lead to structural damage.

Generally docile, the greatest threat people and pets face is the spray from a skunk. To avoid a skunk’s spray rely on professional handling and skunk trapping. Removing food supplies is one of the most effective ways to prevent a skunk from entering your property.
