Wildlife Control for Arborists and Landscapers
Honey Bee Control

Honey bees are vitally important to the environment and play a significant role in our economy. Natural and manicured areas attract bees looking for resources such as hive-building material, nectar and pollen.

When disturbed, these otherwise seemingly docile creatures can attack. An unsuspecting worker can quickly be surrounded by angry bees as they defend their hive. This is particularly dangerous when a worker is unaware that he or she is allergic to bee stings. But even someone not allergic to bee stings can succumb to the impact of stings if too many are delivered. If help is not nearby, a serious health crisis – even loss of life – is possible.

Aggressive Africanized honey bees are present in the southern states we serve, and disturbing an Africanized hive can also be life-threatening. Because of our expertise with aggressive bees, many general pest control companies call on Trutech® to handle these dangerous situations.

If not properly removed and treated, bees will continue to rebuild hives all over your property.

Bee removal is a delicate task and must be done properly. When planning bee treatment and hive removal, our teams consider the time of day, your workers’ schedules and other variables to minimize your liability during the process.

Because honey bees are beneficial to the environment, under certain circumstances, they are protected by the EPA. Our trained professionals understand the regulatory guidelines pertaining to bee removal and treatment – as well as your liability concerns – and can help you navigate a workable solution.

Our technicians assess every situation and provide you with options, along with cost comparisons. While live honey bee removal is preferred, it is not always possible. When feasible, our teams will work with our network of local beekeepers to relocate the hives.

Because bees often return, our team is focused on providing a permanent, quality solution to your bee problems.

Wasp Control

Paper wasps – including yellow jackets and bald-faced hornets – typically distribute their hives around a property in high numbers, making removal difficult and time-consuming. Yellow jacket wasp nests are often concealed underground.

With aggressive colonies that can grow to large numbers, unsuspecting workers can disturb hidden nests and quickly be surrounded by these stinging insects. Aside from being unpleasant, these stings can easily be fatal.

Because of our expertise with aggressive wasps, many general pest control companies call on Trutech® to handle these dangerous situations.

Wasp nests must be treated and removed in a way that will not disturb the wasps and cause them to aggressively seek out their unwanted “attackers.” For this reason, when planning wasp treatment and nest removal, our teams consider the time of day, your workers’ schedules and other variables to minimize your liability during the process.

Wasps sometimes nest in very high places. If there is a wasp nest high in a tree or tower, aerial nest removal is no problem for us – we have portable aerial solutions that reach up to 300 feet.

Snake Control

While snakes are beneficial to the environment, they can be a liability in a natural or landscaped area or public space. The real or imagined threat of snakebites can create an uncomfortable or potentially dangerous environment for workers.

While most species are non-venomous, there are a number of venomous snake species that can create legitimate risks. Because it can be difficult for non-professionals to easily determine which snakes are venomous and which are not, all snakes should be treated as a threat and removed from the property.

In areas where snakes are common, it may be necessary to take a proactive approach to snake control and prevention. This requires an ongoing, professional snake control program.

Snake control and prevention begin with an on-site inspection and consultation by a Trutech® technician. He or she will look for snakes around the property and will remove any snakes found.

Since all snakes require specific habitat types and foods, our professionals can often tell which species are most common in a particular area.

For ongoing snake control, we offer two options: One is snake trapping in a particular area for a set amount of time. The type of trap and duration depends on the property’s unique environment.

The other option involves a combination of techniques – trapping, reduction of food sources, manipulation or modification of the landscape to make the area less desirable and sometimes a snake repellent. This aggressive snake control service is typically provided on a monthly basis. It is unique to Trutech and has been perfected over years of testing and experience. This approach often yields the best results and is usually the best option to keep areas as safe as possible.

Armadillo Control

Armadillos are invasive mammals without many natural predators. While they originated in the southwest, they continue to move east and north. As they look for food, these poor-sighted creatures quickly undermine lawns, flower and mulch beds. They create large burrows as well.

These creatures can be aggressive and can move quite quickly, so workers must be careful.

When it comes to assessing and resolving armadillo issues, Trutech® technicians’ skill and expertise are unmatched. We can effectively trap and remove these animals as well as provide proactive repellent solutions to help prevent them from returning.

Mole Control

Moles may be small, but they can destroy lawns quickly. Digging up to 100 yards a night looking for food, they can uproot years of work – literally overnight. Aside from being frustrated, workers can easily harm themselves if they trip on moles’ extensive burrow networks. It takes considerable effort to return landscapes to their original appearance after a mole infestation.

Trapping most wildlife involves luring them into a trap. Not so with moles. Our technicians rely on experience, expertise and appropriate tools to catch these subterranean animals.

Using a combination of methodologies, specialized trapping methods and products, our technicians will not only resolve your current mole problem but also prevent future ones as well.

Pocket Gopher Control

Pocket gophers are voracious herbivores. Plant roots, leaves, fruit and juice will be quickly consumed by these rodents. Natural and landscaped areas can be destroyed quite quickly.

Plus, pocket gophers aggressively defend their extensive burrow networks. While bites are uncommon, their presence attracts predators such as coyotes, foxes, and feral cats and dogs.

Trutech® technicians are more than prepared to handle the removal of pocket gophers. Our knowledge and experience, coupled with the right methodologies and tools, will quickly resolve your pocket gopher issue – and help keep it that way.
